Welcome to Tamm Driver Coaching

Hi, I’m Cary Tamm a fully qualified Government Approved Driving Instructor (ADI). I have had a lifelong interest in cars and trained as an automotive mechanic after leaving school. I am passionate about driving and in particular, road safety.

My family and I moved to Tarland, Aberdeenshire in the summer of 2021 and my two children attend schools locally. We all feel incredibly privileged to live in such a beautiful part of Scotland and I am dedicated to ensuring that our new drivers hold at their core the skills, abilities and attitudes that will prepare them for the very unique conditions and challenges that we as local communities face.

Before embarking on becoming a driving instructor I spent almost two decades working in Scotland's Social Care sector, where I developed many of the attributes required to be a driving instructor of the highest standard. Social Care places the supported person at the centre, taking into account individual needs, wishes, preferences, skills, knowledge and strengths before agreeing the most suitable supports to put in place.

This person centred way of thinking has very much become a way of life for me and and becoming a driving instructor allows me to continue to ensure I am supporting people to reach their full potential, in a way that is effective and meaningful. It is my aim to create a safe environment where you will be encouraged to take ownership of your learning, at a pace that suits you and where we share the responsibility for safety and risk.

I am trained to use the latest adult coaching and training techniques so you can be assured the coaching I provide will be of the highest standard, with industry best practice at its core. I aim to make every lesson enjoyable and as productive as possible. Lessons are always conducted in a calm, friendly and relaxed manner as I firmly believe in the importance of making pupils feel at ease during lessons.
